Usually when people think of restaurants in New York City they imagine them as stylish, but expensive. It's very true that many restaurants in New York City are like this, but there are plenty of less expensive options that offer some of the highest quality food in New York. If you want great Italian food then consider dining at Peasant restaurant. It has some of the most delectable Italian food in New York City. It almost feels like you are entering a bomb shelter when walking into Peasant restaurant, but the atmosphere is much different inside the dining room. The brick and wood interior really gives you a sense of home. Bulky curtains line the walls and candles adorn the tables with their flames. Peasant's warm, romantic setting makes it the perfect date restaurant. Every morsel of food at Peasant melts in your mouth and leaves you craving more.

In the mood for Japanese food? Then consider dining at Ippudo restaurant. Located in the heart of East Village, Ippudo restaurant is the spot for Japanese food. A reservation is a must for this restaurant due to its popularity otherwise you will be waiting for an hour or longer to get a table. Don't fret if you have to wait because the food more than makes up for it.

I know I covered a Japanese restaurant already, but I can't leave out Morimoto's. In case you were curious, yes, I am referring to the restaurant owned by the famous Iron Chef Morimoto. Entering this restaurant feels as if you are being taking back to another place in time. The food is just amazing and the staff is friendly and has been trained to be highly professional. I just couldn't leave this restaurant off the list even though it is on the more expensive side, so I'm sorry for making you spend more money.

If you want a slice that you won't forget then check out the pizza at Fornino. Brooklyn is the spot for this pizza, but if you want to trek outside of the busy NYC streets then it is more than worth it. You'll enjoy some of the greatest pizza in New York while eating in their friendly dining room atmosphere. Fornino is a great restaurant to take the family to enjoy a nice night out.
